Custom Garage Cabinets for Tempe Homeowners
Tempe is a city that makes the most of the space it has. It is landlocked by its neighbors, so instead of spreading outward, it keeps updating and reinventing what is already here. Plenty of homeowners take the same approach at home, and the garage is often the place where a smart upgrade makes the biggest difference.
Triton Garage & Closet Systems designs and installs custom garage cabinets that turn a cluttered garage into organized, usable space. The Gibbs family has been building cabinetry for the Phoenix area since 1984, and our west Phoenix shop is about 25 minutes from Tempe by way of the 202.
From Hayden’s Ferry to Tempe, AZ
Long before the city existed, the Hohokam farmed this stretch of the Salt River and built canals to water their crops. After Fort McDowell was established upriver in 1865, two settlements grew up on either side of Hayden Butte: Hayden’s Ferry, named for the river ferry run by Charles T. Hayden, and San Pablo. Pioneer Darrell Duppa suggested the name Tempe, adopted in 1879, after comparing the valley and its butte to the Vale of Tempe near Mount Olympus in Greece.
In 1885, the territorial legislature chose Tempe for the Territorial Normal School, which grew into Arizona State University. The town incorporated in 1894, and the 2020 Census counted 180,587 residents. Today the Salt River runs through the north end of the city, where two dams create Tempe Town Lake. The City of Tempe website has permits, city services and events.
Garage Storage for Every Kind of Tempe Home
The city has a little of everything: established neighborhoods, newer infill homes, townhomes and houses close to campus. Garage sizes vary just as much, which is why we never start from a standard kit. We measure your space and custom-cut every cabinet to fit, working around water heaters, laundry hookups, electrical panels and doors.
Good garage storage follows the way you live. Bikes and scooters can hang on slatwall hooks near the door. Camping gear and lake toys for weekends on the water can go in tall cabinets or on overhead ceiling racks. Tools and hardware stay sorted in base cabinets with drawers, and a workbench top gives you a place for repairs and projects.
Families with students heading to campus or coming home for the summer often need room for dorm supplies, moving boxes and seasonal clothes, and a few tall cabinets handle that neatly.
Ideas for Smaller Garages
In a one or two-car garage, vertical space is everything. Wall cabinets that run close to the ceiling, a slim workbench and overhead racks above the garage door can free up a surprising amount of floor. Keeping everyday items near the house door saves steps every day.
A Practical Upgrade That Pays Off Every Day
A garage remodel does not have to be a major construction project. Most of our installs take about one day for an average 16-foot run of cabinets, and the result is a space you will use every time you pull in or walk out to the car.
Materials and Hardware Built to Last
Summers here are hot, and a garage feels it. Our cabinets are built from premium thermofused melamine over a 3/4-inch industrial particleboard core, with lumber and laminates sourced exclusively from North American mills.
Every drawer rides on full-extension Blum slides, doors close on soft-close hinges and all hardware carries a rating above 100,000 cycles. Every large adjustable shelf holds about 150 pounds and has an aluminum stiffener along the front edge, so it stays flat under heavy bins.
Garage Organization That Works for Busy Schedules
Between work, school and everything in between, nobody wants to dig through a garage to find what they need. Garage organization works best when every item has a home and the system is easy to keep up. Adjustable shelves change with your needs, and lockable doors keep chemicals and power tools out of reach.
We start with a free in-home design consultation. We look at how you use the space today, what is not working and what you want the garage to do. Then we design a layout around your cars, your gear and your routine, so the plan fits your household rather than a showroom picture.
A clean, well planned garage also makes the rest of the house easier to manage. When sports gear, cleaning supplies and holiday bins have their own place, they stop drifting into closets and hallways. That is the everyday payoff of good garage organization.
Installed by Our Own Team
Our employees handle every install, and we never use subcontractors. Cabinets mount on a steel rail with cleats and screws set into the wall studs, never stapled to drywall, and we clean up before we leave.
Adding an Epoxy Floor
An epoxy floor is a popular finishing touch for a new garage. We do not install epoxy, but our referral partners do, and we schedule your cabinets first so everything has a home while the new floor cures.
Custom Closets and Storage Inside the Home
The same craftsmanship goes into every room. We design and build custom closets for bedrooms and primary suites, pantry and laundry cabinets and storage for home offices. Our custom closets are measured to your space, built in our Phoenix facility and installed by the same crew as your garage cabinets.
In a home where every square foot counts, a well designed closet can make a room feel larger simply by giving clothes, shoes and accessories a dedicated place.
