Custom Garage Cabinets Made for Avondale Families
Avondale has changed a lot in a few decades, and so have its garages. Where farm fields once stretched along the Agua Fria, today there are busy neighborhoods full of families, commuters and weekend project people, and the garage has to keep up with all of it.
Triton Garage & Closet Systems builds custom garage cabinets for Avondale homeowners who are ready to stop working around the clutter. The Gibbs family has been building cabinetry for the Phoenix area since 1984, and our west Phoenix shop is about 20 to 30 minutes from Avondale by way of I-10, depending on traffic.
Avondale, From Coldwater to the Raceway
Avondale’s story begins in the 1880s, when William “Billy” Moore settled near the Agua Fria River and named his settlement Coldwater. He ran the Coldwater Stage Station, one of the earliest stage stops in the region, and a post office opened near Avondale Ranch in 1896. The city incorporated in 1946 as a small farming community surrounded by alfalfa and cotton fields.
Growth took off after 1980, and the 2020 Census counted 89,334 residents. The Gila and Agua Fria rivers meet in the southern part of the city, Interstate 10 runs across the north, and Estrella Mountain Community College has served the area since 1992. The city is also home to Phoenix Raceway, a one-mile oval that opened in 1964 and hosted the NASCAR championship race each November from 2020 to 2025. The City of Avondale website has permits, events and local services.
Garage Storage for Busy Households
Many homes here were built during the growth of the last few decades, and their garages tend to serve as storage room, workshop and mudroom all at once. Good garage storage gives each of those jobs its own space. Tall cabinets hold sports equipment and cleaning supplies, wide base cabinets keep tools and paint together, and a workbench top gives you a place to fix a bike or build a school project.
We design every layout around the way your household moves. Backpacks and shoes can live near the door to the house, everyday tools at eye level and seasonal decorations up high or overhead. Lockable doors keep chemicals and power tools out of reach of small children.
If you share the garage with two cars, the layout matters even more. Shallow cabinets along the side walls leave room to open car doors, while deeper units fit best along the back wall. That kind of planning is what separates garage storage that works from a wall of boxes.
Built for Car People Too
With a racetrack in town, cars are part of the local culture. If your garage holds car parts, detailing supplies and toolboxes, it needs storage that keeps them sorted. Deep cabinets and drawers keep cleaning products and spare parts in order, and keeping the floor clear makes room to actually work on the car.
Materials That Handle the Heat
A West Valley garage in July is hard on cheap shelving. Our cabinets are built with premium thermofused melamine over a 3/4-inch industrial particleboard core, and we source our lumber and laminates exclusively from North American mills. Closed cabinets also keep out much of the fine dust that blows in during monsoon season, so stored items stay cleaner.
Hardware matters just as much as the boxes. Blum full-extension drawer slides and soft-close hinges are standard on every build, with hardware rated beyond 100,000 cycles. Each large adjustable shelf holds about 150 pounds and carries an aluminum stiffener on its front edge.
Garage Organization That Lasts
Garage organization works best when it is easy to maintain. Once every item has a home, putting things away takes seconds. Adjustable shelves let the system change as the kids grow, and wall-mounted extras like slatwall hooks and overhead ceiling racks free up even more floor space for the car. Many families also like a small drop zone near the house door with hooks for keys, bags and leashes, so the things you grab on the way out are always in the same place.
The goal is simple: open the garage and find what you need without moving three other things first. That is what a well planned garage organization system does every day.
Measured and Installed by Our Own Crew
We measure your garage and custom-cut every cabinet to its exact dimensions, so there are no awkward gaps around water heaters or doors. Cabinets mount on a steel rail with cleats and screws driven into the wall studs, never stapled to drywall. Most installs take about one day for an average 16-foot run of cabinets, and every install is done by our own employees.
Finish the Look With an Epoxy Floor
Many homeowners pair new cabinets with an epoxy floor. We do not install epoxy ourselves, but we refer you to trusted partners and schedule the cabinet install first so your belongings have a place to go while the floor cures.
Custom Closets and More
Once the garage is in order, the rest of the house is next. We design and build custom closets for kids’ rooms, guest rooms and primary suites, along with pantry and laundry cabinets that keep busy family routines running smoothly. Our custom closets are built in the same Phoenix facility and installed by the same crews as our garage cabinets.
