What is Garage Flooring Made Of?

What is garage flooring made of?Well, garage flooring is made of epoxy.  What’s epoxy?  Well according to this Wikipedia article excerpt: “Epoxy resins, also known as polyepoxides are a class of reactive prepolymers and polymers which contain epoxide groups. Epoxy resins may be reacted (cross-linked) either with themselves through catalytic homopolymerisation, or with a wide range of co-reactants including polyfunctional amines, acids (and acid anhydrides), phenols, alcohols, and thiols. These co-reactants are often referred to as hardeners or curatives, and the cross-linking reaction is commonly referred to as curing. Reaction of polyepoxides with themselves or with polyfunctional hardeners forms a thermosetting polymer, often with strong mechanical properties as well as high temperature and chemical resistance. Epoxy has a wide range of industrial applications, including metal coatings, use in electronic and electrical components, high tension electrical insulators, fibre-reinforced plastic materials, and structural adhesives.” [READ MORE]

Why should you install garage flooring? We covered this a bit in our last article, to sum up, however, it is very simple. You want to install garage flooring to make cleaning up in your garage easy, and to prevent spots on the concrete.  There are other reasons to add it to your home, though.

Install Resin Flooring: Make Even Your Garage Beautiful

Installing garage flooring also makes your garage look less like a garage and more like an auto dealer showroom.  Why?  Well, guess what they coat the floors of auto dealers with?  You guessed it: resin flooring.  It makes the floor tough and stain resistant, and when an auto dealer wants to show off a car, they don’t want customers distracted by a dirty and spotted floor.

If you own a home, you want to make sure it looks its best, but not for anyone else’s opinion.  There’s a very good reason to keep your home.  You’re telling yourself that you deserve to live somewhere nice.  So clean up the interior at least once a week, and if you want something to help, then use whatever tricks work.  One of the best one around has to be done only one time as a rule:  to install resin garage flooring.
