Part two of a series on clever home remodeling focuses on closets.
Closet Storage Ideas

There are usually a few problem areas in a home where storage space is involved. Usually your home office if you have one, your bedroom closets, your garage, and your kitchen all have more than the usual amount of clutter. So let’s explore some solutions that may be helpful.
First off, the best solution is to install a custom closet or a storage cabinet. Custom closets give you a lot of extra places to put your stuff as do storage cabinets. If you don’t have that kind of budget, there are two things that to steer clear of as much as possible in your battle against clutter: opaque storage bins and cardboard boxes. Why? Well if you have an opaque storage box, you’re going to have to label it in at least two places: the side or the top or you’re going to have to constantly open them to see what’s in them. The same holds true for cardboard boxes. A good solution is to use translucent storage bin so you can at least what’s in them somewhat. Another idea is a clear plexiglass bin. Just make sure these bins are reinforced to prevent them from cracking.
Storage Solutions and Being Properly Organized
On the subject of storage bins, make sure that whatever bins you’re using only contain what they’re supposed to contain. For example, if you have a box that holds office supplies, don’t mix old records in with it or odds and ends. A custom closet is a good idea for a bedroom, not as much for a home office.
So remember, all you have to do to clear up clutter is to think about organizing. Start putting things away and know where you put them. And use whatever storage solutions that you can to clear up your clutter.
